About Worker Authorisation System

Zinfra and Jemena are part of the SGSPAA group of companies, which consist of SGSP (Australia) Assets Pty Ltd and its subsidiaries.

Health & Safety is Zinfra’s and Jemena’s number one priority. It’s central to everything we do, and we aspire to lead the industry. It’s not just about what we do, but how we do it.

Field Based Contractors working for Zinfra or Jemena must register and maintain their compliance in an online Worker Authorisation System (WAS)

Worker Authorisation System (WAS) is a cloud based solution managed  that consolidates and stores the verified licences, competencies, inductions, and training records of all field workers. In the system, We will also verify the company-level licences and insurances of Field Based Contractors.

WHO NEEDS TO REGISTER?

All Field Based Contractors and Sub-Contractors will register both their business and workers in the WAS.

Field Based Contractors who work and operate within the Victorian Electrical Supply Industry will continue to manage their Victorian Electrical Supply Industry (VESI) training, authorisations, and network inductions of their workers in the Electrical Supply Industry (ESI) worker portal. They will need to register their business in the WAS.

HOW DOES THE SYSTEM WORK?

The process is completed in an online portal by an administrator representing your business. We divide it into two stages to make it as simple as possible: 1. business registration, and 2. worker registration. The entire process is detailed on the How to Register page, and is outlined below.

Registering your business

Beginning in the Company registration portal of the WAS, you will answer questions about the type, scope, licences and authorisations to complete the field work your business does for Zinfra or Jemena. You will upload those documents into WAS, which will then be verified. Once the company registration is complete and documents verified then be able to register your workers.

Registering your workers

Workers working and operating within the Victorian Electrical Supply Industry (VESI) will continue to manage VESI training, authorisations, and network inductions of their workers in the Electrical Supply Industry (ESI) worker portal and do not need to proceed any further. Your workers will continue to use and carry their ESI Worker cards.

Workers working outside of the VESI will be sent login details to the Roles Portal of the WAS, where you will create profiles for your workers. You will select the role/s they perform for Zinfra or Jemena and upload their qualifications and competencies (licences, tickets). This information will be reviewed and verified.

Workers are issued with access ID cards linked to their online profile – their passport to access Zinfra or Jemena sites. Having a WAS card is not an authority to work – instead, it provides the Zinfra or Jemena site manager a way of accessing a worker’s profile when they arrive at site to confirm their role compliance.
